The finance committee decided to pay him due to the risk of losing in court and having to pay three or four times that amount. Initially I was upset, but when some individuals I spoke with compared the potential cost to the town in terms of town services (i.e. the loss of a teacher position) I realized they did what was best for the town even if it felt the worst. I believe someone said, “we should pay him in pennies.” I do agree with that.

Whatever happened to the decision about whether to re-pay former Superintendent Lockwood the $14,000 penalty he paid for breaking his contract with us? Don’t see it on the warrant…

i think that was a horrible location for a trader joe’s. for a company that seems to promote green living, the place they chose was a strip mall along a 4-lane road, reachable only by burning the black goo that comes out of the ground (no bicycle rack)?
