TV less than 32 inches can be dropped at Best Buy in Nashua, NH on D.W. HWY Free of Charge.

Appliance Recyclers will continue to pick up TV & Appliances at curbside until June 30, 2012.

Perhaps you’ve seen the banner and signs announcing the annual April  Door-to-Door Drive for the Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust. TST scholarship applicants are required to participate in the Door-to-Door Drive. In this way, students are able to contribute to the fund raising efforts of the Trust.   Each applicant is assigned a neighborhood route and asked to meet or exceed the previous year’s route contributions. The degree to which a student meets or exceeds their quota factors into the amount awarded to that student and directly impacts the amount of money awarded to all applicants that year. It’s a true team effort! All funds raised from the Door-to-Drive will go directly to this year’s scholarship applicants.

Due to the sustained and generous support of the Tyngsborough community, from 2002-2011, the TST has awarded in excess of $430,000 to over 545 students. So that the TST can continue this important and worthwhile community tradition, please consider making a donation when a TST applicant comes to your home this April.

The Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust is a non-profit, volunteer organization that raises funds and appropriates scholarships for higher education to senior high school students residing in Tyngsborough.  TST is the outgrowth of a fund established in 1963 in memory of Richard O. Currently the group is still in the fact finding phase of the project, according to Brenda, understanding what would be needed to bring a farmer’s market to town.  More input is needed on locations, sponsors, vendors, schedule, costs, and potential permits required.  The good news is by getting involved at this stage individuals can get their ideas heard and be part of the decision making process in forming the group. Making these decisions and getting them right is a key part of making this a success and a reality.

Brenda says the group is looking for “passionate people with a willingness to participate”. Stressing that involvement in this effort will have a “long lasting effect in this town”.  She is even hosting the first meeting in her own home.  In her invite she states, “anyone can join along with you, child(ren), parent(s), friends, neighbors, spouse and your own group (Girl/Boy scouts, book club, poker group, etc…), all are welcome.”

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 7th 2012 at 6:30pm, at 10 Jefferson Drive.  Hopefully there will be enough room for their first meeting, that would be a good problem to have!

Carrie Ladebauche, the Tyngsborough varsity HS softball coach, will be offering a pitching clinic along with the members of the HS varsity team for girls ages 6 and up starting this Wednesday, February 29th, at the Tyngsborough Middle School, Kelleher gym. Proceeds will go to the THS Girls Softball. The details for each of the sessions are below.

Duration: 5 weeks, starting 2/29/12

• Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 for ages 10 and under
• Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:00 for ages 11 and up

Cost is $35.00 for the 5 week session / $25.00 if you are currently attending Sunday softball clinic and proceeds will go to the THS Girls Softball.
